Chestnut is a commission-exclusive NPC.
Profile
Chestnut is a Hati that Lucia discovered while roaming Lemnian Hollow to research various Ethereals. Unlike the vast majority of Ethereals that can be found inside the various Hollows of New Eridu, Chestnut displayed a much more mild temperament, being friendly towards humans and acting much more like a typical dog than an Ethereal.
Chestnut would regularly guide people, notably Lucia, toward injured investigators, in order to help them out of the Hollow, or would leave markings near to objects of interest. Likewise, instead of fighting against people, like a normal Ethereal would, Chestnut preferred instead to flee or hide away from those she deemed to be a threat to her safety, however if a person who was close to her got into a fight with Ethereals, Chestnut would side with them and help them fight-off the Ethereals, instead of doing the inverse.
During the events of Tales of the Dreamless, it is hinted that Chestnut might have either been a part of, a creation of, or at least controlled by the mysterious entity known to the Nightwatchers as the Night Horror.
