Hurcules is an event-exclusive NPC who first appeared in the Soul of Steel: Golden Bond Event. It was the primary antagonist of the event, before the truth of its resentment towards humans was revealed.

Profile

Hurcules is a proud and self righteous Golden bangboo with a penchant for the dramatic and a dislike of sentiment. Following the death of its creator, it became incredibly embittered towards humanity as a whole, but it is ultimately incredibly lonely, having lived in solitude for twenty years.

History

Hurcules was created by Samson Hu on the 2nd of April. He considered it to be his greatest creation, and designed the Golden Mecha for Hurcules to ride, based on the comic "When Aliens Came to Earth". He also designed a backup mecha for it. After Samson Hu was killed in a corporate power struggle, the Golden Bangboo was left devestated, having only the mecha and the comic to its name as its possessions. Now resentful of humanity, it likened itself to being a "destroyer of humanity" as the Bangboo in the comic did. Despite this, Hurcules didn't know how to active the mecha's full potential, and so was unable to use it to exact any kind of revenge.

Twenty years later, Hurcules lost access to the Golden Mecha 01. The Bangboo caused a disruption in Lumina Square after losing the Mecha, forcing Public Security to intervene, but it was able to make its way to Brant Street Construction Site to confront Belobog Heavy Industries and the Cunning Hares, who had retrieved the mecha and were trying to disable its defense systems, both to control it and to prevent it self destructing. By the time Hurcules arrived, Anton Ivanov had already contacted Phaethon, who with the help of Eous, had been working to operate within the mech's protocols so that it wouldn't explode. Though it tried to threaten them to return Golden Mecha 01 to it, it ultimately fled after receiving similar threats from Zhu Yuan and Grace Howard.

While the agents tried to get the mech under control, Hurcules brought forth a backup mech, and fought the Eous-piloted 01 with the intention of reclaiming it and proving its own superiority. The two Bangboo and their mechs fought several times, until eventually the agents discovered how to stop its defense protocols and awaken its full potential. During a final confrontation, Eous was able to fully defeat Hurcules.

It accepted its defeat, but when Phaethon and Billy Kid revealed how they unlocked the mech's full potential, it went in to a rage, rushing in to the golden mecha and preparing to fight, but after Grace revealed the truth behind the mecha's question - that "The universe's ultimate secret" was 42; Hurcules's birthday, it stood down, explaining its conflicting feelings and expressing that it had enjoyed itself during its scuffle with the agents. It proclaimed that it would leave the golden mecha in Belobog's care, but not before stating it would one day defeat them regardless, reaffirming its position as the Destroyer of Humanity and the keeper of the universe's greatest secret, before leaving in the backup mech.

Some time later, Hurcules was hired to work as the final villain of Director Ohno's film by a sponsor, though due to conflicts between him and the sponsor, that arrangement fell through, with Ohno having to fulfill Hurcules's substantial wage out of the meagre budget he could pull together himself. Hurcules only appeared at the end of filming, and was shocked to find that the actor playing Icaros was Eous, being outraged in having to lose to it again. After filming was done it reconvened with Ohno, Grace and Phaethon, headbutting the director and chastizing him for his self-pitious attitude.

Hurcules would eventually come to arrive in Marcel Bootopia, looking to scavenge some useful parts, but ultimately getting lost. It would eventually encounter Eous, working with him to defeat the Lockspring replica in the area.
