The Inter-Knot (stylized in capitals as the INTER-KNOT), also known as the Proxy Network, is an organization in the world of Zenless Zone Zero and also an in-game Menu screen where players can check their Inter-Knot notifications, schedule, and Proxy Primer.
The Inter-Knot menu can be accessed from the Main Menu or by pressing J while in the city.
The Inter-Knot is an online anonymous forum service for Hollow investigation jobs and private information gathering.[1] Though it has a similar name, the Inter-Knot is not the game's version of the real-life internet, as the internet exists as a separate entity; it is more likely to be the equivalent of the dark web. Jobs posted on the Inter-Knot are typically jobs that are not accepted by the Hollow Investigative Association due to risks or legal complications, or personal matters that require discretion. Despite the illegal nature of the Inter-Knot, even affiliates of official organizations such as NEDF's Obsidian Division or the HIA may post job offerings.[2][3] The age of an Inter-Knot account is closely connected to its credibility, as well-established accounts have a high Inter-Knot level, proving they have completed many commissions successfully and with good ratings.[4]
During the events of the main story, the player loses their main Inter-Knot account and must rebuild their reputation on a new account.[1]
The Notifications section is presented like a message board, where the player can read various posts and reply to some. Some of the posts allow the player to reply to clients and take on Commissions.
Once a player has joined an Outpost, they can use the Intel Board to post their own commissions. Commissions can be posted for certain H.D.D Commissions, Expert Challenge stages, and Notorious Hunt stages. Other members of the Outpost will then be able to accept and complete those commissions. Once completed, the requester will receive the rewards from whichever commission or stage they requested assistance on, while the person who completed it for them will receive Outpost Trust and Contribution Points.
Outpost Trust will be used to increase the player's Permission Level, while Contribution Points can be used in the Points Exchange store, to purchase various items.
A new "Proxy Journey" menu will be added, where players can claim rewards for completing Phaethon's Story chapters and check requirements for unlocking various chapters and features.
