Continually attacking an enemy can increase its Daze, causing it to be Stunned.
Use heavy attacks on Stunned enemies to trigger a Chain Attack.
Special Attacks and EX Special Attacks normally have a heavy attack effect.—[Tutorial] Daze and Chain Attacks
Daze is a combat mechanism in Zenless Zone Zero.
Overview
When an enemy sustains hits, they gain Daze depending on the type of move used and the Impact of the character inflicting it. When an enemy's daze reaches 100%, they are Stunned, temporarily preventing them from moving and also increasing the amount of damage they take by a fixed percentage.
A Chain Attack will be initiated when a Stunned enemy is attacked by a heavy attack. The number of Chain Attacks that can be performed depends on two factors:
- The strength of the enemy. Normal enemies can trigger 1 Chain attack, Elite enemies can trigger 2, and Bosses can trigger 3.
- The number of Agents in the player's party. The number of Chain Attacks the player can perform cannot exceed the number of Agents in the player's party.
If a Bangboo is present in the party, Bangboo Chain Attacks will become available under certain conditions depending on how many Agents are in the player's party:
- If the player's team has 1 Agent, Bangboo Chain Attack can be performed at the beginning a Chain Attack.
- If the player's team has 2 Agents, Bangboo Chain Attack can be performed after performing 1 Chain Attack.
- If the player's team has 3 Agents, Bangboo Chain Attack can be performed after performing 2 Chain Attacks.
Daze Accumulation
The amount of Daze accumulated by an attack is calculated as follows:
Daze Gauge Length
The length of the Daze Gauge varies by enemy and determines how much Daze is required for the enemy to become Stunned.
Base Values
Level Multiplier
The same enemy may use different types of level multipliers depending on the type of combat scenario. Type 1 level multipliers are the default, and Type 2 level multipliers are usually used in Shiyu Defense.
